Returning Awardee Wisdom Talley, expected class of 2024, is from Elon, North Carolina. She is studying Nursing at Howard University, where she has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA. In the summer of 2023, Wisdom worked as a student nurse extern in the Neonatal ICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Last summer, she participated in the Dana Farber Harvard Cancer Center summer internship program and conducted research on Endocannibinoid signaling in gliomas. As a student, she is a Resident Assistant, Student Ambassador, and NCSSM Hope Officer! Upon graduating from Howard University, Wisdom plans to become a Neonatal Nurse practitioner to increase representation in the medical field and decrease alarming Black maternal death rates.
