Sweat for Scholarships: Juneteenth Fun Run (Outdoors)

Date: June 20, 2026
Location: John Francis Education Campus, Washington, DC

The Williams-Franklin Foundation was proud to kick off the Sweat for Scholarships Series with a Juneteenth Fun Run in Washington, DC. Held in partnership with CD Fit, this outdoor community fitness event brought supporters together to run, walk, move, and give back in honor of Juneteenth and WFF’s mission to expand educational opportunity for HBCU students.

The event created a meaningful opportunity to introduce WFF to new audiences through wellness, community connection, and purpose-driven movement. Participants gathered at John Francis Education Campus for a morning of fitness and fellowship, using every step as a reminder that collective action can help create more scholarship, mentorship, and career support opportunities for students.

The Sweat for Scholarships Series is designed to meet people where they are — in parks, on rooftops, in fitness spaces, and throughout the community — while raising awareness and support for WFF’s work. By connecting health, culture, and education, WFF continues to engage new supporters, encourage student involvement, and build a stronger network around the next generation of HBCU leaders.
