Sweat for Scholarships Series: Rooftop Mat Pilates
Date: June 13, 2026
Location: Union Market Rooftop, Washington, DC
The Williams-Franklin Foundation brought the Sweat for Scholarships Series to Union Market Rooftop for a morning of movement, wellness, and community connection. Led by Demi Stratmon, the rooftop mat Pilates class gave participants the chance to start their day with an energizing outdoor workout while supporting WFF’s mission to expand scholarship, mentorship, and career opportunities for HBCU students.
Set against the backdrop of Washington, DC, the event created a welcoming space for supporters to connect with the WFF community in a fresh and active way. More than just a fitness class, Rooftop Mat Pilates helped introduce the Foundation’s work to new audiences and showed how community-centered events can bring people together around health, education, and purpose.
As part of the broader Sweat for Scholarships Series, this event reflected WFF’s continued effort to engage students, alumni, young professionals, and community supporters through accessible outdoor fitness experiences. By meeting people in spaces where they already gather, WFF is building new pathways for awareness, involvement, and long-term impact.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the rooftop and helped make this Pilates class a successful morning of movement for a meaningful cause.
