Zion Trowers is a sophomore at Spelman College pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology on the pre-medical track with a minor in Comparative Women’s Studies. An aspiring gynecologic oncologist, Zion is passionate about advancing women’s health and addressing healthcare disparities in underserved communities. Her healthcare experience as a medical scribe, combined with her academic pursuits, has strengthened her commitment to providing quality care and improving health outcomes for women and families.
At Spelman, Zion serves as Vice President of the Community Leadership Council, where she advocates for residents, supports student engagement, and helps organize programs that foster community and sisterhood. She is also an inductee of the National Council of Negro Women and has completed more than 800 hours of community service. Zion has been recognized through numerous scholarships and honors, including the Horatio Alger State Scholarship, Andrew Young Scholarship through TMCF, Broward Education Foundation Scholarship, and Burger King Scholars Scholarship. Through her leadership, service, and academic pursuits, Zion is committed to becoming a physician and advocate for greater access to quality healthcare in underserved communities.
