Toriona Coakes, expected class of 2026, is from Stuttgart, Arkansas. Toriona is studying Political Science at Florida A&M University. In the summer of 2024, she was committed to developing her professional skills through training sessions and specialized courses. Additionally, she prepared for the LSAT to pursue her goal of attending law school. Alongside her educational indulgences, she also developed her practical experience by working at Walmart! During Toriona’s time at FAMU, she has participated in several clubs and initiatives, such as joining the J.W. Hatchett Pre-Law Society, Rattlers Pack, and Women’s Student Union. She also takes pride in being a Spring 2023 initiate of the FAMU Chapter of SISTUHS Inc. In her hometown, Stuttgart, AK, she orchestrated a Stop the Violence Event where she uplifted the youth in her community to strive for their future and come together for the upcoming generations. Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school to pursue a J.D. degree and work with different entities to gain experience in the law field. She would also love to work as a paralegal in law school.
