Thabhelo Duve, expected class of 2027, is from Talladega, Alabama. Thabhelo is studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Talladega College. During the summer of 2026, Thabhelo focused on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and technology innovation by building his startup, DeepUbuntu.com, which focuses on data infrastructure for autonomous systems, robotics, and edge-case training data. Through this work, he is developing tools to help teams collect, organize, review, and prepare real-world multi-sensor data, particularly in communities where connectivity and infrastructure may be limited. He has also contributed to NVIDIA open-source projects, continued teaching computational thinking through emziniwecode.com/cs7, and remained engaged in advancing AI and accelerated computing. Beyond his technical work, Thabhelo is committed to mentorship and expanding access to computer science education. He founded the Google Developer Student Club at Talladega College and, through his involvement with NSBE, robotics initiatives, and international student groups, has dedicated more than 300 hours to mentoring fellow students. He also mentors computer science students through Microsoft TEALS and supports students in his home community by helping provide educational resources for 15 students. Upon graduation, Thabhelo plans to attend graduate school and continue advancing his work in computer science, artificial intelligence, and technology innovation.
