Returning awardee Sanai Neblett, class of 2025, is from Dacula, Georgia. She is studying Psychology (Pre-Med) at Hampton University. In the summer of 2025, she participated as a VCU Pauley Heart Fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University, conducting cardiology research on left bundle branch pacing and exploring the field through clinical rotations and shadowing. At Hampton, she served as a HU-Chem Research Assistant, conducting detailed research on bacterial transport proteins. She has also been active as Treasurer of Black Girls in White Coats, a member of the Onyx Executive Council (the student event planning board), and the Student Government Association Women’s Caucus. Upon graduation, Sanai plans to take a gap year to focus on medical school applications and preparation. She also plans to return to Atlanta to work for the CDC in the public health sector.
