Jaelyn Miri-Tatem, expected class of 2028, is from Camden, NJ. She is studying Nursing at Howard University. In the summer of 2025, she interned at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and visited family in Jamaica. She also explored dermatology, rebranded her small business, SpiceWittheeIce, and pledged a portion of its proceeds to support local organizations. At Howard, she has been involved with the Residence Life Dance Team, worked as a Resident Assistant, and is a Horatio Alger Association Scholar. She also participated in Howard’s Alternative Spring Break, supporting education and community initiatives in underrepresented neighborhoods in Chicago.
