Jacoya Cartnail-Riddick, expected class of 2026, is from Frederick, Maryland. Jacoya is studying Health Information Management at Alabama State University(ASU). In the summer of 2024, Jacoya interned at Auburn University in the Pharmacy Research Building as part of the ASU cancer and biology research training program. Her research focused on investigating Rac-1 inhibitors in multiple myeloma and B-cell malignancies. Her responsibilities included conducting experimental assays, analyzing data, and contributing to advancing targeted cancer treatments. During Jacoya’s time at ASU, she served as a peer mentor in Montgomery, Alabama, assisting students in the career and academic journey of STEM disciplines. She also is a member of the National Council of Negro Women and a 2023 Diversity in Aging Research Program member at Auburn University in the College of Pharmacy.
