Demarco Smith, expected class of 2023, is from New Orleans, Louisiana. Demarco is studying Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xavier University of Louisiana. Demarco is a Teaching, Volunteering, and Site Coordinator for STEM Nola tutoring young students in STEM subjects and inspiring them to pursue STEM-based careers. Demarco also volunteers at Passages Hospice in New Orleans, assisting Restorative Nurse Aides and interacting with medical clients. Furthermore, he is a Financial Advisor for Primerica. On campus, he volunteers for the XULA Max Program assisting with a community garden, constructing homes, and restoring homeless individuals. Upon graduation, Demarco aspires to become a chemical engineer in the medical field.
