Alexandria Alsobrooks-Laney

Alexandria Alsobrooks-Laney, expected class of May 2027, is from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She is studying History with a minor in curatorial studies at Spelman College. In the summer of 2024, she began her summer by studying abroad in Florence, Italy. She took two classes, Globalized Italy and Survival Italian. She learned all about Italian culture and how it is affected by industrialization. When she returned, she began her summer-long internship as an Investigative Intern at Georgetown Law Center, where she worked in its Juvenile Justice Clinic. At Spelman College, she is a member of the newsletter committee for the Spelman College Women in Hip-Hop Collective. She was also an intern for the Office of US Representative Steny Hoyer and co-founder and president of the Womanism Club at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School. Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school and practice Criminal Defense or Civil Rights Law.
