John W. Wilson IV

Board Member

John W. Wilson IV is a passionate legal advocate and former financial analyst whose
career is defined by leadership, service, and a commitment to justice. Currently an Associate at
Quinn Emanuel in Washington, D.C., John has contributed to landmark legal outcomes,
including securing the dismissal of charges in a high-profile police brutality case, confirming a
multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy restructuring for a major cryptocurrency exchange, and resolving
a U.S. Department of Justice investigation involving autonomous vehicle technology.

John’s journey began at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a
proud Historically Black College and University (HBCU), where he earned his B.S. in Business
Finance. His time at NC A&T was transformative—he excelled as a Division I student-athlete on
the Men’s Tennis Team, earned Academic All-American honors, and served as Senior Class
President. The HBCU experience instilled in him a deep sense of pride, purpose, and
responsibility, shaping his leadership style and fueling his lifelong commitment to equity,
empowerment, and community uplift.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law, where he was
honored for his excellence in oral advocacy and served as President of the Black Law Student
Association. During law school, John interned with the ACLU and ArchCity Defenders, where
he worked to secure justice for underserved individuals in the St. Louis community—further
deepening his dedication to public interest law.

John’s legal experience spans elite law firms and public service, including roles at Baker
McKenzie, the Dallas District Attorney’s Office, and Jones, Allen & Fuquay, L.L.P. Prior to law
school, he worked as a Financial Analyst at Texas Instruments, where he developed financial
models and supported long-range planning for the analog business line.

Outside of his legal practice, John is a dedicated tennis coach, cello player, and
community organizer for Feed My Starving Children. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity Inc., and actively mentors aspiring legal professionals, helping them navigate their
paths toward success.
