Dwight Franklin

Board Chair

Dwight Franklin is the President and CEO of Professional Management Consulting Services (PMCS), which provides professional consulting solutions in management, IT, Health IT and staffing services. Since 2006 PMCS has provided national award winning services to commercial clients, state, local and federal governments. Mr. Franklin received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University. He is also a graduate of General Electric’s (GE) Technical Leadership Program and a graduate of the Babson College Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Emerging Leaders Program.

Mr. Franklin has a strong desire for community service. He currently serves on the board of the Black Student Fund (BSF) and the District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA). Since 1964, the BSF has provided financial assistance and support services to Washington, DC metropolitan area African-American students, grades pre-kindergarten to 12, and their families.  The DCSAA is an association of District of Columbia public schools, public charter schools, and independent schools (private and parochial schools) that share knowledge and best practices to enhance student-athlete achievement through athletic programming and to provide quality of life learning experiences. He previously served on the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission Board (DCSEC). He provided executive oversight and assisted the DCSEC to experience positive revenue for the first ever Eagle Bank Bowl Classic. This college championship football bowl game provided a return of football to the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) stadium. In 2015 Mr. Franklin organized the first ever Black Male Teen Youth Summit that trained 100 youth from 12 – 20 years of age on police brutality, civics, black male stereotypes and how to properly respond to situations that can lead to riots.

Mr. Franklin is an avid supporter of inner-city youth. He has volunteered his time by tutoring at a DC Public School, creating reading clubs for African American males and coaching various sports such as basketball, football and soccer. He has established academic tutorial programs to improve student reading and math comprehension. In addition, Mr. Franklin engages in public speaking focused on self-awareness and improvement at public, charter and private schools.
